Related Projects
There are projects that are inspired on or related to Net::DNS.
ldns
ldns is a C-library with DNS related functions developed by NLnet Labs. It was inspired by the Net::DNS library.
The goal of ldns is to simplify DNS programming, it supports recent RFCs like the DNSSEC documents, and allow developers to easily create software conforming to current RFCs, and experimental software for current Internet drafts. A secondary benefit of using ldns is speed, because ldns is written in C it should be a lot faster than Perl.
dnsruby
dnsruby is a Ruby library.
A combination of the best elements of Ruby's Resolv module, Net::DNS, and dnsjava, formed this library - dnsruby. Dnsruby is already being used to help create the ISC DLV registry, as well as being used in fast-flux detection attempts.
